Remian Diagnostics Ltd runs webinars and conferences across health, technology, agriculture, education, and research sectors, and needed a platform to manage all of it end-to-end. I built the system on Django REST Framework.
Webinars sit at the core of the platform. Medical Lab Professionals register, pay where required, attend, and earn CPD points that count toward their KMLTTB licence renewal, with certificates issued where eligible. The Conference module extends this further. It is not limited to Remian's own events; it can also be used to run registrations on behalf of third parties, letting an organizer bring their conference onto the platform, collect fees from attendees, and get back a full report on registrations and revenue. This gives Remian a commercial layer on top of its CPD work, since conferences can generate revenue independent of the sector they serve.
Payments across both webinars and conferences run through M-Pesa, using STK Push and Paybill. The system has an async side (payment confirmation, email notifications, Google Meet link generation via signals, and Pillow-based invitation card creation) module that makes it every action smooth and faster.
The platform also has a blog and news space. Users with accounts can submit articles covering tech news, medical news, and other content relevant to the community. Submissions go through an approval workflow before going live, keeping the public-facing content moderated and on-brand.
On the admin side, I built a full dashboard with Bootstrap 4, JWT authentication, and a modular JavaScript architecture, giving the Remian team a way to manage webinars, conferences, payments, and article approvals without touching the codebase.
